Take a look in my eyes you will see nothing wrong
look in my heart you will see a boy singing a sad song

take a look in my eyes you will see a 16 year old boy wit scars
standing tall filled with pride even though he is broke and his dads gone

gone in prison were he will stay for almost life
i try to do good on this earth so i don't pay that same price

same negative qualitys of my father in me
when i slip mom thinks i'm going to end up just like him

take a look in my eyes you will see a man that stands up for what i beleave
addicted to the life that i had slanging on the streets

try to make my mom proud but is hard when your homies nead you for dirt
to get back at a man that said a couple of words

so i say no! come home to my mother and sis
the next day my two homies get arrested for murder and i titen my fist

head down to the floor saying that could of been me
my mom hugs me and says look up and always stand on your feet

so the next day is the same back out wit the gang
on my second strike hoping nothing happins today
