My og street name Is Lazy...from there i began trying to make hip....like lazyboy...to Sir Lazy..... everyone on tha streets was using MR. ....... so i wanted something different....so i started using Sir .As for GangStyle....i remember when there wasnt many people around on GS.....then more and more people started coming on.......many were young thug/gangsters that would come in trying to Net Bang...... and i would just try to open their eyes to what else was out there.....and been doing that since .My background........Im a Mexican American....Born in East Los Angeles, California.........Had both parents in my life........but as many know.......growing up in THA HOOD.....you get tempted to live that life.......and it was My decision at a very young age to live that life...................no regrets....i wont glorify it .........but it made me who i am today!!!!! q2 You now go under Da Sire? How'd that develop? THA SIRE........ I been saying that......you know to go with tha SIR i was using......but then i used it on a rhyme...."I BE THA SIRE SIR LAZE"...........and ever since then.....many people liked that and started telling me to keep that name....so that made my decision to stick with it! q3 Naming your label Tha Empire you obviously had some forethought that this was gonna expand to be something big. Is this a vehicle for you or do you have a crew of other artists under this umbrella? you hit it right on tha money man..........thats exactly my goal bro......to build an EMPIRE!!!! Tha music and tha clothing is tha driver right now for it......but my goal and thoughts and dream is to do much much more......and much much bigger.....Those who know me from here im sure can think of things im gonna do Once this blows..........in a posotive manner.......and to be honest......thats one of my biggest motivators.......what i can do for many!! including my own.........but im also a realest.....so i know its gonna take time......but im in for tha long haul on this.... and thats a promise i made to my peeps!!!!! i got a whole crew under THA E now......we got KONFLICT(artist), AUGUST KEEN(artist), DEE BOSS(artist), D (artist) JaiJae (R&B artist), JEWELZ(Female Artist).........My boy L is one of tha ones in charge of tha management .........and this is just tha start.....We got many other E SOULJAHS as well....from producers and stuff like that q4 Your sistser's a singer also. Is she working with you? Yup....JEWELZ.....She is a EMPIRE RECORDS INC artist.. q5 So what's going on with the music? Any CDs dropping? Big label interest? Tha music or i should say THA DEBUT ALBUM from tha label is my own....THA SIRE's THA ARRIVAL........tha album is in its final stages and let me say...as a Fan of REAL MUSIC......tha album is Hot ....FIRE!!!! and im not just saying that bro......there is not yet a release date set...but you will be one of tha first to know when it is.....Right now were pushing Radio ......We just finished a video and are working on video for tha SINGLE track off tha album. Many interests from investors and there are some proposals.......But im really focused and have been doing it on my own with tha help of my main man....My Pops!!!! So in other words......Tha right deal would have to be set......but tha album will be in stores when it comes out!!!!!!! q6 You run down the realities of street life in your songs. Do you think there's a fine line between telling it like it is and glamorizing life on the streets? How do you avoid that? i keeps it real man.....thats one of my own rules in life...Keep it real!!!!!! i tell tales bro........ill say tha real....tha fun .......tha craziness.....tha struggles and tha sadness of it all.......telling it like it is.........LIFE!!!! from streets to tha burbs....from good to bad bro.........tha ups and downs.....THA REAL!! q7 Who are you listening to right now? ANyone on your label we should be looking out for? i listen to all types of music now............i cant really pin point one.....offcourse biggie...tupac.....that new r kelly is nice....akon.....alot of tha rock tracks....i can go on and on as for my label.....All tha crew is very talented......for starts everyone should look for THA SIRE!!!! and go down tha list from there because i will guarantee that all tha albums will be on tha same level............ q8 Do you handle the whole creative process or is there one area you specialize in? Writing, producing etc? i do most of it.......i watch over it....and finalize it.....request touch ups and things like that.........i guess you can say i got tha final say.... q9 You also have a clothing line. What's the vibe with that? Where can people buy it? tha vibe with tha clothing is THA EMPIRE!!!! thats what im building ...an empire......we use tha term E SOULJAHS....... Soul jahs meaning like its coming from tha Soul...tha music...tha love....tha street.....tha family......THA EMPIRE!!!!! we have many different style.... for both women and men with more to come.....we got hats, beanies, head bands as well...accessories.....as of right now you can get tha clothing online through our website.....were working into getting tha clothing in stores.....offcourse starting small...mom and pops stores....and go from there...but so far tha reaction to it all is Very Very Good. q10 Where can people check you out on the web? Having recently teamed to launch a new music label, Warner Bros. and industry executive Stan Sheppard have announced plans to enlist some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B in an anti-gang campaign. Akon, Lil' Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Kurupt and Ice Cube have all signed on to create music for Bangin...The Big Lie...Pain, Pride & Destruction, the first compilation CD in the series scheduled for release through the new deal. Bangin is set for release this September, with all sale proceeds going directly to Amer-I-Can/Unity One Foundation for Social Change, an anti-gang organization. Sheppard, who is directing the promotional and marketing campaign for the project, has also announced plans to simultaneously release three singles from the album, "What's Goin On" by Snoop Dogg & Akon; "Get Off Me" by Kurupt and "The Ghetto" by Lil' Wayne.
