You want to Join A Gang?

If you are thinking of joining a gang please read the items below from real Gs. If you have any questions, please email us by

SEVEN WAYS GANGS WEAR YOU DOWN

Academically: School Is Sacrificed (stuff that you need) To Fill Your Head With Stuff You Don’t Need. (Each Day Missed Equals 3 To Make Up)
Question: How Many Present Bangers Do You Know Who Have Gotten Scholarships To Colleges Or Universities?

Mentally: Takes A Lot Of Mental Energy To Memorize/Study Signs, Symbols Codes, Constitution, Bylaws & To Keep ALL That Stuff SECRET!

Physically: Late hours, smoking, drinking, drug use, possible STDs, lockup.

Emotionally: Death of fellow bangers; Injury to your OWN family members. Possible time in Juvie/Jail/Prison that will separate you from family members.

Socially: Ages 12-17 Times Of Greatest Development and Skill Building. Not To Mention The Fact That You Are Involved With The Scum Of The Universe.

Spiritually: Praying prayers To An Organization Who Not Only Can Not Help You, But Can Not/Will Not Help Themselves Or Their Community.

Economically: You Can’t List Being A Gang Member On A Resume; You MAY Have ‘Some’ Of The ‘Skills’ But Don’t Hone Them To Be Successful.

FOUR ALTERNATIVES TO BEING A BANGER

1. If You Want To Be A Leader, Or Develop Your Leadership Skills, Join Or Become A Part Of Non-Criminal Enterprises.

2. If You Want To Follow Someone, Choose Those Individuals/Adults Who Do Not Have Criminal Records, Or, Who Are Incarcerated.

3. If You Have Problems, Or, Want To Talk To Someone, Choose An Adult Who Is At Your School, Church, Or Friend Of Your Family Who Is Upright!

4. Do Not Fill Your Mind With Garbage! What’s Going In Your Brain?

"I'm TELLING YOU STRAIGHT UP..FROM EXPERIENCE..DO NOT JOIN NO FUCKIN' GANG..I BANGED NORTE 12 YEARS OF MY MOTHAFUCKIN' LIFE..TRUST ME, I KNOW, GANGBANGING IS NOT WHAT YOU WANNA DO WITH YOUR LIFE..YOU LOSE YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY, RESPECT OF YOUR FAMILY, PEOPLE DIE..YOU CAN DIE, AND BELIEVE ME..I DON'T WANNA FLY OUT NOWHERE OR TAKE A BUS TO A FUNERAL..CUS ONE OF MY GANGSTYLE HOMIES GOT KILLED AIIGHT..CUS TRUST ME..A HELL OF ALOT OF PEOPLE CARE WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU..AIIGHT BELIEVE THAT. Only One Life and It's Over ive been in a gang since i was 12 and then my boy friend got shot by a drive by so i moved with my family to try to start a new life cause i thought it was over... but even tho hes died im still told im not out because the only way out is by getten beat... so im stuck for life.... ive got a new boy friend that i love to death and he dosent even know cause im afraid to tell him.... i thought it was over and now i know its not even close to being over. this life sucks i wish i never picked it theres not a day that gose by that i think damn today might be the day that im killed ... ive seen my friends killed and my boyfriend killed im tired of it... i wish it would just end.... i dont want to have a kid and then it following after me because i know if i regret it so will they. i wish it would just end but it never will so i wake up each day and yes im afraid to walk out of my house... hopefully one day i wont be afraid but untill then im just going to hide till they call me again and want me to do somethin else dangerous

False Claimin HEY WHERE I LIVE AT SOMEONE JUST GOT KILLED 4 FALSE CLAMIN A GANG. THEY TOLD THAT PERSON THEY NEED 2 STOP BUT THEY STILL GO ON AND FALSE CLAIM. IT'S SAD U KNOW. WHY WOULD SOMEONE WANT 2 CLAIM A GANG IF THEY AINT IN IT IT'S NOT WORTH IT, GANGS ARNT SHYT. AND PEOPLE KNOW WHAT HAPPENS 2 FALSE CLAIMERS, I DONT UNDERSTAND THE WORLD AND THE PEOPLE THESE DAYS...MixedChica13

I want to join a gang... The first thing you need to do is find a cemetary where you will want to be buried and make funeral arrangements, because gangmembers typically die young and violently...You might want to consult your family about their preferences for burial, too, since the families of gangmembers tend to get victimized in the violence as well...If you're better off than many gangmembers, you'll wind up in prison instead of dead. You might want to line up some friends who will visit you there (or in the hospital, because there's a good chance you'll be there, too). By the way, don't expect your homies to visit you in prison -- I've never heard of it happening! Also, give some thought to how you will occupy all your free time in prison (or the hospital) -- maybe buy some books now for future use, and have a family member promise to bring them to you? Typically, family members (who don't get killed as bystanders in the violence) are pretty much the only ones who visit gang members in prison...Also, females who get involved in gangs are often used as sex objects. You might put some thought into where you will go for help when you get a sexually-transmitted disease, or when you just feel very, very lonely because of the way your "homies" treat you. Since gang members often get involved in drugs, you might start looking now for a place to get drug rehabilitation treatment, as well. Find a good hospital now where they can treat you for everything from drug use to rape to gunshot wounds...Gang life is not pretty. But don't take my word for it -- read the posts of the former gang members at gangstyle.com...Of course, my best advice is that you avoid gangs and turn to Jesus. Ask Him for advice -- He knows the possibilities, He knows the secrets of your heart (far better than you do, even!) and He will lead you on a path where you will be truly happy...Channelview

i didnt live a typical gang life, it was different with the people that i ran with. we were down with crips, and bloods we didnt claim anything. we were just a group of friends that were down for our shit. we had beef with different sets all around the city from the northside to the southside nobody really liked us. i remember kickin it with straight OG's that taught us how to make it out there with enemies all over. and i learned real quick when i started to get blasted at and was goin to funerals and visiting friends in the e.r and in jail. it was crazy, i lost my mind in the drugs and violence seeing my friends get shot, stabbed, beatdown... it was hell. there was a few times i didnt think i would make it to the age that im at now, but i did and it makes me think that somebodys lookin out for me, i just feel bad for the people that had a good head on their shoulders that lost their lives to some bullshit. so what does gang life mean to me.. its a waste of your life, you'll never forget the shit youve seen and youll never forget the people that got hurt that didnt have to...six four

lately theres been a few of us talking about gangs and gangs in other areas, gangs from california moving to other areas, other states gangs battling california gangs, ive posted about califonia gangmembers moving to other states and having to deal with hate from other state gangs and california gangmembers moving out of state and stirring up shit, i also posted on how over in arizona, where i live now,the biggest gang war is between any arizona gang against all united california gangmembers.

weve posted about decisions made in life- well on saturday one of my lil sisters friends, 19 yrs old, was killed by a california gangmember- reason? he was wearing an arizona shirt. they were at a house party, people probably got a little drunk and started trying to get crazy, this kid was a cool kid, was not a trouble maker, not a gangmeber, from what i was told more about him, he was pretty much a nerd, these california guys approached him and told him to take of his shirt, the kid refused to take of the shirt, as the party ended and everyone began to leave, the califonia guys approached the kid again and started arguing with him about his shirt. to make a longer story short, the california guys shot and killed this kid because he did not take off his shirt.

its sad, all over a shirt, my point in sharing this is mainly decisions made in life and to i guess help others understand how "SERIOUS" the gang shit is when it comes to L.A. gangs (which i know and understand)! someone posted about the ms13 gang, they came out in the news too, but let me say, all california gangs are moving out and expanding, i dont think this kid really thought he was in danger, maybe blew it off and thought it was nothing, i dont think no one knew at that party, im not saying the kid should of taken off his shirt, maybe he didnt want to get punked, but to a g, in a party, trying to show off, and drunk, life does not matter! and its sad. i can go on and on but ill leave it here. its not a game! im out-

wannabees can't last on the street. i'm sure everyone's said it already, but they'll either get clapped up or jumped by a rival crew or get their ass beat when they get hit up for knowledge from their own "set". i would tell those parents to send their little asses to bootcamp or sumthin'LOL i don't know man, it's a tough situation because some crews will pick up wannabes, and then you got this kid who wants to bang so bad actually get a strap put in is hand. that's bad news, fuckin' ignorant gunplay. but do somethin', it's not a game, and i know ya'll fuckin' know that.it's just funny to me that people think it's a little club or somethin'. it's how some people live man. so if you're not gonna be in it till the end, don't even fuckin' think about it. that's what i think about wannabes.later.peace. by PDUB

Wannabes get no respect from real gs on the street. They are laughed at. Rival gangs will hurt them just cuz they want to be part of another gang. They get no protection. They are basically just jokes. If its a town where everyone is a wannabe that claims then they dont gotta worry about being hurt but they are still laughed at by others. they look at act stupid and ppl that have no knowledge of gangs can spot a wannabe by King Bonkers

hmm, well this is a good one. well first let me start off by saying i agree with every reply on this one so far. let me add my 2 cents or should i say my dollar and 2 cents cuz its gonna be long haha!!! in my book, ive put it down to 4 different categories, ( in the streets),
1. the born to be's= these are the kids that are born to g parents who are die hard g's, and the kids grow up knowing nothing better, representing the hood and getting into the hood at ages 5 and above.

2. the going to be's= are wannabes that are pretty much gonna be g's nomatter what, but do it the right way, roll with the hood, become boys with the hood, do shit for the hood, prepare to go to war, prison and die for the hood, once they get to that point, (which takes years to do in a real gang) they get jumped into the hood!
3. the punk wannabes= these are the ones that are punks (bitches) if i may say, who try to roll with a gang to look tuff, just to have the name and try to get the respect like the real gang has, they too do anything to try to impress people and the gang, but real g's see the fake ones, the fakes get used, since the fakes are willing to do whatever to get that respect, they may think they got the respect, but they dont! they may be feared by some normal innocent people, but not by the real, they are constantly tested but never accepted- "but" you need to watch out for them because they do anything to earn a position in a hood, even kill! most of them are scared and only takes one good opening of the eyes to make them change their minds and move on. i can go on and on with them.
4. then you got the studio wannabes= these are the ones that watch to many movies and listen to too much gangster rap music and watch to many music videos and try to dress a certain way just cuz they think thats how gangsters are supposed to dress. it only takes one major thing to happen to pretty much end them.

my opinion in wannabes is that there are wannabes in everything, from wanting to be a cop, an athlete and a g etc etc... and in every wannabe you got one of the four, you got the real cops who pretty much keep it real, respect, you got the fake punk cops who are always trying to look hard and punk people, you got it in every aspect of life- it pretty much comes down to how you react towards them. example- born to be's and going to be's wont come up to just anyone and try to start shit, or punk some one "they are real", punk and studio wannabes will try to start shit or punk just anyone because they are trying so hard to get that respect, instead they get fear and they take it as respect until they run into a "REAL G" and get put in their place, and where i come from, they get put there for good!!

i can go on and on with this one man, but i wont. im out, sir layzee

Well yeah...wannabes are great recruiting material...because we have so many youngsters who wear the baggy clothes'...sometimes you really can't tell who bangs' & who doesn't. And yes, wannabes ARE targets for rival gangs'...thats the obvious..they don't get excluded.. The difference between the 2 are...wannabes don't claim a actual set, they hang with the set, wear their colors'; but don't normally throw gang signs' or use graffitti. And gang members'...I shouldn't have to explain..we should all be able ta pick those out...by Teddii
