Do you know what it means to "Survive Outside the Hood?"
Are you prepared to survive outside the 3 to 4 block area you call your hood?
Before you answer that question realize that hanging out in a hood occupied by another section of your homies is NOT surviving outside the hood, but merely transplanting yourself from one target range to another. continued

L.A. Smoove Crip to Christ
One day while in the Spirit, the Spirit of God spoke to me and asked me, "With The Blacks What Do You See?" I answered, Crips killing Bloods and Bloods killing Crips. Then God asked again, "With The Mexicans What Do You See?", I answered, S.A.s' killing S.A.s'. And with others God asked me the same question and my answer was the same. Then God spoke again and said, "THIS IS THE SPIRIT OF CANE", HE WHO KILLED HIS OWN BROTHER. LIKE WISE, THE GANG BANGERS ARE KILLING EACH OTHER.

Can I Make It This Time?
Can Anyone Show Me How to Stay Free?
When a person is released from jail or prison there is a natural crisis created by the
transition. This individual has been in an environment where most of his/her decisions
have been made for him/her: where to sleep, what to eat, who to hang out with and what to
do have all been pretty much decided by the Department of Corrections. Now they are
reentering society where decisions rest almost completely on their shoulders. Depending on
how long he/she has been incarcerated this can be quite intimidating. GEM will offer hope
through counseling, teaching, practical solutions and referrals.
