Gang articlesGang Life: In The Words of Gang MembersSubmit Your Story About Street Gang Life here...VictoryAll this shit I hear about young people claiming gangs just makes me mad now. I am an ex member of VoD and I have boiz in a lot of other gangs. I know what it is like to go out at 3 in the morning to go get revenge on someone who shot up your boy, I know what it is like to see them come back around to shoot up another of your boys. The gang life is an endless battle with no victories on either side. You may believe that you are better than a member of your rival gang, but that is most likely the same thing that they are thinking. No one lives forever, you're born, you live, you die. We cant change that. The thing that bothers me though is that I see all these kids out there in a hurry to get to the top, only to find that they are sinking deeper. The life of a thug is no life at all. I realized this only this summer. I thought that I was stuck in the gang for ever and that I did too much wrong to ever be able to change my life. That's the problem, too many of you think that you did too much shit to go back to a decent life, well cuzz, it's never 2 late, trust me. Mah "boiz" wanted me to go and drop a mans kid because he sent some other members of ours to jail - a snitch. Although I was mad at him and I wanted to do something to him, but I said no. His son is only 5, still a young and new life. He has no idea what is going on in this world yet, why should he have to pay for the mistakes of others? He is too young to commit the crimes which he would have to pay for if I took his life. I am no coward, that I guarantee, but I do, believe it or not, have a heart. I may have kept it buried the whole time I was in the gang, but now I no longer bang. I go to school every day, keep my grades up, have a job, and I am in love with my girlfriend. I still hang out with my old friends who live the life. But I have made it for myself. I have reached my personal victory. I found something to live for and I wont mess this up. Find your goal and make it your victory, trust me, it is worth it my brothers. Whether you are Asian, white, black, Hispanic - its all the same, just make it worth it. Challenge yourself. That is the only way to victory. When you fight a war and win, but lose most, if not all of your men and resources, it is what is called a hollow victory. A victory at too great a cost... and with no point. This is my message, I hope that it will make you think, because thats all I expect it to do, just think about the gang life before you get too caught up. Jeremy AKA -Lyte- |
