The Present Generation by Dana Does the present generation ever think about their poor children? I am 26 years old and I thought I had seen it all. Well now a days, 10 year olds are starting stuff I didnt do till I was 14. Family is just a word now, not a reality in so many homes. In America, land of opportunity so many kids are in the correctional system. Just rotting. Not being mentored, but being let out, only to be placed in group homes where they are victimized, raped, etc. My sons friend was over here playing and we started talking. He revealed to me that his mother had went to prison, and he was sent to a foster home. Where the parents way of correcting a child was shoving his head into the toilet. I stand at the bus stop with my son and watch the other kids. Its scary. I cant save my son from his own generation. It hurts me when he comes home from school and tells me the things that go on. I feel helpless sometimes, all I can do is pray. Why arent people loving our children? Why are people worried about gas prices when kids are raping each other and murdering each other daily. Why do schools have to ask the parents to sponsor programs that have been taken away cuz of lack of funding? And everyone acts clueless when another kid drops out of school. As the world can see, parents are failing the children. Victims of the same cycle of BS, they dont know how to act. When is America gonna stop ignoring the youth. Let me rephrase that-When is America going to notice our youth before they're robbing them or raping them, or opening up another drug house. I hate the government. Its all corrupt and self serving. I dunno, I guess all this stuff is just the sign of the times. But it never stops bothering me. |
